Bible reading:

(1) Choose a book of the Bible and read a chapter a day until you're through the book. Then choose another book. Good places to start: Genesis, Luke, John.

(2) Choose a book of the Bible and start reading, slowly and meditatively. Notice which parts seem to draw you in, and pause there. Make a note (mentally or on paper) of particular phrases or sentences, and reflect on them during the day. Next day, continue where you left off. Some days you may read several chapters, other days just a verse or two.

(3) Read the Bible aloud, a chapter at a time or a paragraph at a time. Record parts of the Bible, reading them yourself from your favorite translation. Then listen to the recordings as you walk or do yardwork or ride the bus. Stop the recording from time to time, to reflect on what you've heard. Pray for God to open your mind and heart.
